This plant listing is for Helleborus 'LIARA' part of the Hellebore Gold Collection, HGC® Winter Ballet Series that bears upward-facing large, single-petalled, dusky pink petaled flowers. The petals have darker pink reverse, edging, and veining. This is a real beauty and one of our favorites! 'Liara's' evergreen leaves create year-round interest in the garden. 'Liara' is an interspecies between H. niger and H. x hybridus, where the breeder used characteristics from both species to create this unique perennial. This beautiful, vigorous perennial is an early bloomer with an abundant floral display starting in November and blooms continue into April. Zone 5-8. Mature size is 20" x 24" x 20" x 24".

Plants ship either bare root or potted. When shipping bare root plants it is to keep shipping fees reasonable.

This plant ships in the last two weeks of September when the weather is cooler.

Plants are approximately 10+ inches from the plant's crown to the top of the leaves. This plant will bloom annually. These healthy and beautiful plants are Idaho field-grown.

Hellebores are low-maintenance and mostly disease and pest-free. In the spring simply trim back last year's foliage. These hardy plants can adapt to diverse growing conditions. They prefer rich, moist,
organic soil, but will also grow in clay or sandy soil. Good soil drainage in the soil is important for healthy root development. Once established these plants can tolerate short periods of drought. Soil pH can range from slightly acidic to slightly alkaline. Hellebores are shade plants that need to be protected from the hot afternoon sun. They can grow in full shade under large deciduous trees, but the winter sun helps set their blooms. In the fall heavily mulch the soil at the base of Helleborus plants. In the spring new seedlings will grow in this mulch and can then be transplanted elsewhere in the garden.
